In order to write their radio plays, the students had to continue the first few lines of Raymond Chanler’s detective novel entitled "High Windows" (1942). It starts like this :
" I’ve never had any dealing with private detectives, Mr Marlowe. I don’t know anything about them. Your references seem satisfactory. What are your charges ?" "To do what, Mrs Murdock ?"
The short plays were then performed in class.
